Northeast Pennsylvania Brain Bee

The Northeast PA Brain Bee encourages high school students to study the brain and how it relates to intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movements, stress, aging, sleep and brain disorders. University of Scranton Neuroscience Program Director and Brain Bee organizer, J. Timothy Cannon, Ph.D., states, "Every year the level of competition in our regional Bee increases. This indicates that the Bee is succeeding in promoting knowledge, and hopefully interest, in the field of neuroscience." And Mary Casey, NEPA Area Health Education Center noted that the Brain Bee "Offers area students interested in the sciences and health care a local academic activity to participate in."

All NEPA Regional Bee questions are drawn from the 52 page book Brain Facts. All high school students interested in participating in next year's Brain Bee should contact J. Timothy Cannon, Ph.D. at cannon@scranton.edu or Mary Casey at mary.casey@keystone.edu.
